Were ALL A's and AA's produced with engine splash pans?
Was there a pan on each the driver and passenger side?
My AA is missing the pan/pans. Were they possibly removed over the years for better engine access and then never put back on??
Thanks

Splashpans
My understanding is that Ford did install engine splash pans on all Model A and Model AA vehicles leaving the factory. There was a pan on each side of the engine. In addition to offering some protection from road elements, I've seen it suggested that the pans also provided better grounding between the engine and frame.
I have pans on my '29 Roadster, but not on my AA or '30 Pickup. I think quite a few of them lost their pans over time, and I'm not certain what they actually protect against on modern roads.

Engine Pans
The engine pans are not for splash. They are an A part numbers use on both the A and AA. They aid in the engine cooling. They are a pain to remove and install. So many were trashed when the engine was pulled. There are about three or four styles as per the Judging Standards.
