Its me agin about the rear SORRY

How far down the axle tube does the outer seal go , When I look down the tube it appears to be a small ridge a few inches before it gets to the spindle I guess you would call it Thank you again for all your replies

Also if the AA is like the Model A the open side of the seal goes toward the differential .

For the worm drive axle, the axle shafts outer grease seals do fit against a ridge in the outer section of the housing. This is the same design as the A chassis. A tool is made for the A chassis to install these seals as well as the drive shaft seal in the torque tube. The AA axle shaft seals would require a larger tool. And, I am fairly sure that the AA drive shaft requires a slightly different size tool.
