Driveshaft bearing removal
Driveshaft bearing removal
Can you describe how to get the bearing and race out of the tube. I have the drive shaft out if the tube. I see the snap ring but where do I go from here. Also is there a certain way that the speedometer gear back goes in , Thanks Billy

Re: Driveshaft bearing removal
Billy,
The way I just did a couple of mine is based on the way the car bearing surface removal is done only our worm gear rear ends require everything to be a little bit larger. The process goes like this:
Find a socket that will just clear the ID of the seal holder, put the socket over the end of your shaft, put the shaft and socket into the tube and put the shaft and tube vertical on the floor and lift the tube and pound it down a couple of times until the seal and bearing come out.
Two of mine were easy and one was a real challenge.
Make sure the speedo gear and mount is out of the tube.
Good luck
Dave
