Gas Peddle Sticking

Post by captain marty »

OK, this should be easy to figure out; but I keep trying to find the reason my gas peddle sticks.
It drives find until I stop and the engine is running faster than normal, then I have to pump the peddle to back it down.
I've oiled and greased all points and it remains the same.
What am I missing?

Marty, I would remove the assy. from the back of engine and bring to a vise to hold the assy. Rotate the shaft as far as possible each way and check to see it the shalf is bent or binding. slide the shaft side to side, you may need to remover the return spring to do this. Make sure the shaft is not binding and straighten as needed. Use some fine sand paper to polish the shaft. make sure the two lube holes are not plug. They are there there to lube the shaft, which most have never see lube oil. Hope this helps! Shelby, Sacramento.

My lever has not been bumped.
I will remove the assy and have a look at it and sweeten it up, I'm sure it could use it.
Thanks,
Marty
