Probably all of us have used brake cleaner from a spray can.

The difference between " chlorinated " & " non-chlorinated can " save your life.

I usually buy chlorinated - you seem to get a little more.

Never gave it much thought.

If Brakleen is your go to favorite, the shops I was in switched to the green can which is Non-Chlorinated and Low Voc. We felt it was a safer bet. Bob E.

The link to that guys situation is worthwhile information. Welding over corrosion can be bad news as it traps all kinds of bad substances that can create nasty fumes. Cleaning parts for welding with carb cleaner or brake cleaner, chlorinated or not, although it cleans well is not good either. It causes fumes that get in your nose, clothes, and remains in the shop for days.
Citrus cleaners that do fairly well on grease and oil and I've always used acetone for doing a finale cleaning on certain things. I know, all kinds of advice against it, but it works.
