disintegrated drain plug seat any ideas????
disintegrated drain plug seat any ideas????
took off my oil pan, brazed holes, cleaned up. installed. 1 year later go to add oil. tighten up drain plug and out comes the plug and seat. looks like it was soldered in. appeared perfect when i had it apart. any ideas, rubber stopper drain plugs? epoxy kits that actually hold? ideas to repair that do not include dropping pan etc. thank you in advance, kevin

Kevin I wish there was a silver bullet out there to fix your troubles but I doubt that there is one. In my opinion the best fix in this situation is to get a good used pan.

yea pans are plentiful...
whatever repair you do wont be worth the time it would take to get a different pan...

My 2 cents. Remove the pan and have it brazed in properly. Fix it right and it will work fine. A used pan, you can fix too, then install it! May as well fix the one you have.
