Restoration Guidelines and Judging Standards - Revision 4

Post by Neil Wilson »

FYI - Revision 4 of the RGJS document is to include a replacement of the E Supplement - "Heavy Commercial Vehicles". The new supplement is 116 pages and contains considerable details and many figures covering AA specific information. There are approximately 235 figures which are mostly photos/drawings with text overlays. The figures include 25 photographs of complete AA's.

MAFCA web site information:
New Release of Restoration Guidelines and Judging Standards

August 19 - The long awaited Revision 4 of the Model A Restoration Guidelines and Judging Standards has been announced, with shipping starting in October. The Standards are a collaboration of both MAFCA and MARC and are the definitive guidelines for restoring a Model A Ford to factory original.

Revision 4 was a huge effort. 16 of the judging areas were rewritten. The new Guidelines is 2.5 times larger, 330 pages as opposed to the original 135 pages. Many new photos have been added as well. It wil be available as a complete volume for $55 or just the Revision 4 update that you can add to your existing Standards for $30, both plus shipping.

To order online, go to https://mafca.com/cart/index.php?show_price=yes. Or to order by phone, contact MAFCA Headquarters (562) 697-2712 Monday - Friday from 10AM to 4PM Pacific time.
MARC is also selling advance copies of revisions 4. I could not find a link for this.
Regards, Neil Wilson

the way I read it, the $30 4th revision, will only be the pages, the contain updates.
the $55 version will be the entire guideline, in a binder.
I pre ordered the $30 option, last weekend. it is supposed to be released, next month.

Thanks to everyone who works so hard to update the standards, and makes them more accurate. It can make for interesting reading, and answers alot of questions us AA owners have. Special thanks to Neil Wilson for his dedication to these trucks, his research, and this web site!

It is my intent to create a new web site named rgjs.fmaatc.org for the purpose of gathering proposed future changes to the RGJS E Supplement. Once revision 4 is published, there is likely going to be further discussion and research. Note that the last release of the E Supplement was 1994 (22 years ago).

Attached is the first page of the new E Supplement.
