Coupling shaft assembly

Does anyone know where I might find a coupling shaft for a 157" (long) wheel base 30-31 AA? I would need front & rear u-joints and shaft. I have some of the tube and ends.

157" trucks arent too easy to come by let alone the elusive coupling shaft. I will see what i can dig up though as i know a few (maybe - dont remember what driveline they had)

Thanks for the reply Stakebed. I could use a shorter one as long as the ends hook up, I could lengthen the shaft and tube. The 4 speed trans shaft appears to be 1 5/16" & 6 spline & the torque tube shaft 1 1/4" 10 spline. Is that standard for the 30-31?

Does anyone know if later year shafts will fit, say 35 or 36 ; with some modifications?

Ford went to 1 3/8" driveline in 1932.

Rickack, the 30-31 coupling shafts only used a u-joint assembly at the rear end where they attached to the torque tube driveshaft. These were a special joint that had a stop built in the splines so the joint would not slide back too far. At the front, the transmission mainshaft had a male gear installed on it with a special cone shaped bolt and a spring. The front of the coupling shaft had a female end that slid over the male gear on that is installed on the transmission mainshaft. I think I should have some extra long wheelbase coupling shafts around.

Keith, thanks for the info. I think I sent you a pm , at least I tried. I'm not real familiar with this site yet.
