The first attached picture shows an unusual design of the 82-A closed cab left hinge pillar. Has anyone seen this design? I am quite sure that this hinge pillar was from an early 1929 79-A panel delivery.
The first picture shows the location for the side view mirror is 7-7/8" from the bottom of the upper hinge to the mirror bracket upper mounting hole. The mounting holes are 2" on center and a tapping bar (or something) is attached to the inside of the pillar which have 5/16-24 threads for the dome (oval) headed hex bolts used to install the A-17741 mirror bracket.
The second picture shows the location of the d-nuts for the side view mirror is 5-7/8" from the bottom of the upper hinge to the upper d-nuts. These 5/16-24 d-nuts are also spaced 2" on center for the installation of the A-17741 mirror bracket.
The third picture shows the A-17741 mirror bracket.

Stakebed do you have any good pieces that bolt to the door pillar and rivet to the sub rails? ether one or both. If you do would you sell them and how much.

Neil I sent you some photos at your email as I don't know how to attach them on this site.
They show both of the measurements as in your pictures with the longer distance on my 1929 88-A platform. Hope it helps, Charlie

Your pictures verify that the hinge pillar design being researched as a Ford design and not just an owner's modification.
To Everyone,
There are now five designs of the left hinge pillar for body types 79-A panel delivery, 82-A closed cab, and 85-A panel delivery. These designs are for different mirror bracket locations and designs. I am working on an article for the 2018 Double A'er which will update AA mirror installations.
Attachment of pictures is limited to three on this board. So, I will attach d1-d3 to this post and d4-d5 to the next post. Note that my "hinge pillar" name is listed as "coupe pillar" in the Ford body parts list.
