28/29 Warford in a 31 AA

Awhile back I installed a 28/29 warford in a 31 AA, it's a bit noisy but it works good except that it's apparently leaking (or forcing) gear oil into the 4 speed transmission.
After about a 75 mile trip I find the (Snyder's 600 wt) gear oil level in the warford to be down about 8 ounces and the level in the 4 speed to be about 8 ounces over filled.
I don't think Im missing any seals as I don't see any in the parts list other than gaskets and the rope seal on the rear support. I did determine the fill hole on the warford is about 2 inches higher than the fill hole on the 4 speed, which makes me wonder if the oil is just trying to equalize between the 2 gear boxes? (It does have to be driven, just sitting makes no difference in the levels)
Has anyone else with a warford had this situation? would sealed bearings fix it? Do I need thicker oil? Do I just let it seek it's own level and hope it's not too low?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
