29AA dust covers

When the big 29 AA left the factory with the 6 hole wheel, was the dust cover black or silver?

i think they were nickel plated and left unpainted?

The Judging Standards say cadmium plated.

Cadmium plated was the original finish. It is hard to find these hub covers in condition suitable for plating.

I got lucky mine are in mint shape they were plain steal, with black paint on them. (NO rust or dents).
