I apologize guys, its not the width of the board itself I need. It's the width of the entire truck - outside of passenger running board to outside of driver running board. Both at the back of the cab, and again at the back edge of the boards themselves.

See, I've got this trailer that has a bed that I'm wanting to cut down to fit and work as the bed on this AA, but the bed is nearly 8 feet wide, and it needs to be bobbed in the front to fit between the cab and rear end properly. I just want to narrow the bed down just enough to cover the running boards, but not be too wide like a dually bed on a single wheel setup - if that all makes sense?

Thanks for the help thus far. You guys are great.
I'd suggest making the bed to the Original width if you want it to look correct.

Measured mine tonight.
January 29 truck with long running boards.
67 1/2" at rear. Confident this is a very accurate measurement.
67" at the front. Difficult to measure precisely as the muffler drops down into the plane of measurement. Pretty dang close though.

Thing is, essentially what I'm going for in design isn't what most would have gone with anyway. The original flatbed that was on this thing stuck out at least a foot on either side of the cab, and that's just not really what I'm wanting. The basic idea is that I'm building something a bit along the lines of the stuff the GIs built when they came back from war. I know this is a bit different take on the period, but the loose military theme may be a fun one.

The 67-68" measurement seems to be a pretty close one from what I've seen over a few different trucks. Since I'm using an 80s Ford half ton rear axle, which is just over 65" wide, making the bed width around 70" should adequately cover the wheels and tires, as well as the edges of the running boards. I don't want to be too wide, but I don't want to be too narrow either. With the cab around 54" wide, I may even wind up having the front section of the bed angled in to match the cab back and create a more flowing transition from the cab to the bed. I'll just have to see about crossing that bridge as I get to it.
