I have a Wood hoist and gravel box on my '31 AA. I'm repainting the entire truck, including the gravel box and hoist. Does anyone know what the original color is on the hoist (cylinder/pump and mechanical mechanism)?

It appears on the mechanism there might be a faint light green color.

it looks dusty dirty - can you take some degreaser cleaner to parts and see what shows up?

Per the RGJS, page E-83 indicate that Ford sold cargo bodies were painted the same color as cabs. Since Ford archive photos were black & white, this can not be completely verified. However, the attached photo looks like the dump body is the cab color. Note that the chassis is black and not the same as the hoist.

If you Google Gar Wood dump truck ads or Gar Wood hoists there are images of ads from popular journals from the 1930s. Looks like the cab/dump/hoist are all the same color as suggested above.
