I don't do heat treating so I wouldn't know.

I hope not but I am no expert - I did wrap the perch with a weld cool wrap and it should have kept it at less than 200 degrees. Not sure if anealing the mount and rivets will affect anything.

Came out Good!!!!! that looks perfect!!! Now think about just how much rotation actually happens on that shaft. Maybe 2 deg. ? Just wiggles back and forth.. Again, Looks Great!!

he means the spring pack just barely pivots - amazing how much that small pivoting can wear that shaft out.

Ok - I ca feel a small amount of wear on the bottom of pivot on the inner 1/3 but not to bad. I ordered new bushings and hope that they will be big enough to tighten them up. With good roads and only 2000 miles a year unloaded should last my lifetime.

You will be fine. Put it together and don't worry about it. When it wares out, ( 75 yrs. from now), then you can weld it up like I did with mine. The shaft was half gone!!

keep it greased and it may never wear anymore.

Cleaning up the drivers side spring and I found an issue - the brass bushing was worn all the way through and wore on one side of the top spring holders. Hopefully not a hard part to find?ImageImage

I'd clean it up get a new bushing and see how big the gap is. Loctite 660 will fill up to .020 gap
or maybe some JB weld.

Or, bore it oversize and have a bushing made to fit. All will be better than new.

yea id clean it up and see how much gap there is. The parts shouldnt be hard to find. Ill look when i get a chance - i have 2 of those parts i wont use but unsure how worn they are. Thats about the only way those parts wear out.

My friend had an old AA truck yard as yard art and it had same piece I needed. We swapped it out last night and I have one that is perfect. Thanks

Here's a link to 2 videos showing some assembly. The second video shows riveting rear spring perches and frames about 3 minutes into it.
