Not sure yet Kevin, haven't fired it up yet as still getting the wiring done . Haven't had as much time as I would like lately - been making Christmas presents!

did you rebuild your warford. i replaced every bearing, counter shaft gears had some rounding on shoulders. do you know of a source for used or new counter shaft gear cluster? or anyone else?

Hi all
Can't believe it is almost a year since I posted an update. A lot of that time has been spent wrestling with the wiring (discovered I had a new indicator switch that wasn't wired correctly inside, plus a LED taillight that had no connection), replacing the fuel tank (old one would hold gas for a couple of weeks and then start leaking - had it out 3 times before throwing in towel and getting a better one), plus fixing oil leaks . All the usual stuff but the cab is now finished and the engine finally runs.

I went off original and put a wood support under the cab roof , just in case I ever get caught in a hail storm!

I had a problem with the ignition switch shorting out on the new tank but once we tracked that down, it ran really well. Sounds good and runs smooth. So today I took it out for its first drive. I was surprised at how easily it shifted gears without even double declutching, it slipped from one to another almost like a modern car. All that work on the transmission really paid off. Only problem is I cannot get into reverse so will need to investigate that. I also need to adjust the brakes as I had them backed off way too far. The Warford auxiliary transmission doesn't seem to make any noise either so that was a bonus. I do have an oil leak I think on the 4th main bearing which is puzzling as I was super careful with seals .

Next major job is to get the deck assembled on the back. I've machined all the wood from ash and all the steelwork is repaired and ready to go. I have heaps of photos if there is anything anyone particularly wants to see, I have just been a bit remiss in posting them!

Looks great. See page 442 of the Service Bulletins for instructions on adjusting the reverse lockout.

Thanks Bob, I didn't know that was there. I am sure mine is way out of adjustment so should be an easy fix.

To my knowledge there are no other "seals" in the Warford, I had an issue with gear oil "leaking" out the front end so I installed a modern seal on the input shaft and so far, knock wood, it is no longer leaking.

The Warford Parts List and exploded diagram... I notice the years listed are '28-'29 but the shifter is the same as I see in '30-'31's. Is this the same for all 4 years or what am I missing? Also, what year Parts Price List is this out of?

That’s looking beautiful! I was gonna go that way with mine! ( natural patina), but then I didn’t have the heart to do it after replacing/repairing the body. Can’t wait to see it finished!

Hi All,
I didn't realize it was so long since I posted some progress photos of my '29 work truck but as promised in the other thread, here are some pics of the finished truck. It is now licensed and has almost 20 miles on it and has freed up a lot. It now starts as soon as I just touch the starter and seems to run well, a little noisy I guess from the Warford, but not to the point of needing ear muffs.
