Where can I buy new speedo cable for '29 AA truck. Can I repair mine?

If I remember correctly I purchased mine from Bert's in Colorado.

Looks live most of the venders have them but there not cheap, whats wrong with yours?

Vendors have the length and parts for you. Sniders lists them.

The Ford parts book shows the casing AA-17261-A is 81.0" long and the shaft AA-17262-A is 82.2" .
Snyder's shows the complete cable 85" long and Bratton's shows 89"

Now I am confused. I didn't want a new casing and can't find the other end of the cable, so I can't measure mine. My truck is late '29. I see various cable repair options but none have the keyed end I need. Ideas?

Yes, of course that would be the thing to do but a real hassle pulling the casing out of the truck and measuring it. I just thought someone would have the information I need without having to do that.

FYI - Ford's initial part names were "speedometer cable" = the outer part and "speedometer shaft" = the inner part. The name "speedometer cable" was changed in the engineering drawings to "speedometer casing". Part AA-17260 Speedometer Shaft and Casing Assembly was the name used for Ford engineering drawings but the Ford parts list used the name "Speedometer Cable and Shaft Assembly" through 12/29.

This is not the naming convention used by vendors (at least Snyder's which I checked) - seems the term cable can mean just about anything like "cable assembly", "cable only", etc.

I would guess your AA has a usable casing with a broken shaft. A 1929 AA should have an oval speedometer. This means that casing would be .455" OD and the shaft would be .15" OD. See the attached photo.

There were many different lengths of the .455" OD casing for the AA. My collection of casings has nine different lengths. So, you will have to measure the length of you casing to get a proper length.

To get a broken shaft replaced, I went to a Denver speedometer shop years ago (Deluxe Speedometer). I took them an oval speedometer, the speedometer driven gear and bearing (at the torque tube), and the casing. They made a shaft with correct ends and length for that setup.

Rather than pull out the old casing, I ran a bailing wire from the instrument end to the end of the casing; 81" exactly. So it looks like the overall length of the "shaft" should be 82.2, as Bob stated. Doesn't look like any supplier has the shaft in the proper original length.
