firewall upgrade to my M30 platform

Post by mikeg »

The most significant modification I'll make to my truck is the installation of a '31 indented firewall and '31 gas tank.

Was the firewall spot welded, riveted or were machine screws used to fasten the firewall to the body? From the random holes along the body where the firewall slips in it would appear it was spot welded. It's been a long while, but I recall having to drill out spot welds to remove the original firewall.

The picture below is the inside bracket where it ties to the door pillar, was this riveted or welded?

It was spot welded on. You need to tack weld it back in.
