Bob C, well this all makes sense now, I knew the dump body was 1930 because there was no hydraulics prior to that, The 4 speed tranny also had me confused as well as the Budd wheels, I thought maybe somebody had upgraded it at some point, but this was a one owner truck prior to my purchase. The roof is steel, but it was a obviously a shade tree mechanic add on. Thank you for the info, is very helpful

Ford used the 82-A cab (1928-29 style) until June 1930. You have the heavy front axle with the big brakes, dual wheels and
probably a bevel gear rear axle and 4-speed transmission.
You can also see where the sideview mirror mounted and the A pillar door post. I bet the steering wheel and box are also 1930. Of course your frame number will tell you for sure.

You can see the 1930 Steering Wheel in it.

BACK IN THE YEAR 1962, I bought a 1929 open cab pickup. It had a '30-31 hood and radiator on it. I was 16 and what the heak? Nothing was lined up. After all the guy that had the truck was elderly plus he was retired mail carrier. I replaced the hood and radiator with a 29 radiator in 1962 it looked much-much better. The radiator is still on another open cab pick today, still serviceable, (its in Louisiana) I'm in Scaramento now :) Shelby, Sacramento

The paint is a single stage urethane from House of Color called hot rod flats, it is the original color for truck, Rock Moss Green

I have a good hood and radiator shell available if someone needs one, for a 1929. They were stripped to bare metal and red oxide primer brushed on in 1954, there is surface rust coming trhough primer.
