My truck has a generator that probably came off of an old tractor. There is an adjustable brush, and I was wondering how to set the voltage. I know I can slide it toward a + or - to adjust, but how is the correct setting determined? Via output voltage and if so what is the correct voltage?
Or should I just leave it alone? I do put a tender on the truck every time I park it.

Re: Generator out put voltage
The battery is what regulates the output voltage in the old Ford three brush generators.
