I drove my Expess truck 11 miles at 50 mph and when I got home I used my thermal imaging gun to read temperatures. Two things I was concerned about was the worm drive rear bearing and engine sleeves.
The worm drive front bearing as measured on the case was 159 degrees. The rear bearing was 180 degrees. First the difference the two of 21 degrees and is 180 to hot?
Second the engine temp on cylinder sleeve was 239 after engine was shut off. Still had water in it and it was not boiling over.
Any one every take these temps right after stopping after long drive? Do these seam excessive?
Worm gear temperature
Re: Worm gear temperature

Re: Worm gear temperature
Seems ok to me. Boiling is 212 Deg. Your not even close to that. 180 for a bearing is nothing. As far as engine temp. Seams all is working fine. Cooling system is doing its job. Drive on!!!
