My AA had that same type of overloads on it. They are now laying in the yard.

The ones that I have seen are not Ford but are after market. I have a set on mine but they mount on the axle and have yokes that attach to the frame that the ends of the springs push against under heavy load. I like the look of them and have no worries about them being on the truck as they will never be put to the test as the days of heavy hauling are in the past for my truck.

Helper/overload springs were not offered by Ford. They would be provided by other companies.Devils Gulch Garage wrote: ↑March 6th, 2019, 8:39 amMy Model AA looks to have Helper springs on it...its been parked since 49...are these Ford or some type of aftermarket piece?

They look alot like the helper springs on my '29 school bus. However, looks like yours doesn't have the pad on the top of the axle where they meet. Maybe it wasn't required on the later models?
