Oil filter on timing gear cover

Post by SHELBY MESSER »

I am planning to put an oil filter on the cam gear cover. My question is Is this a good system and what kind of changes do I have to do to the oil system? I'm using a balanced crank, rabbit mains and insert rods. The crank comes out of the Screwed up H & H engine with a screwed up rear main. The thrust washer was mover to the center main cap only. Do I need to pressurize my main or stay gravity feed. If I need to pressurize the mains, how do I go about that. If I don't hear back on this I'll just go drip lube mains and no one but me will ever know. Drip mains has lasted 88 years. :) Shelby, Sacramento

PS Thanks for all the In put :(

I don't know nothing about the timing gear oil filter. I see that no one here knows anything either. So I'll figure out what benefits the filter does and I WILL NOT let anyone know my findings GOOD-BY :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x

I've heard of a valve cover oil filter but never a timing cover oil filter.

Interesting. Looks like it is just a timing cover with a place to mount a filter cast into it, all
the plumbing appears to be external.

That's it. Dumps clean oil onto the timing gear and into the pan.
