I recently picked up an AA Transmission with a PTO drive. I got it cheap along with a 28-29 front bumper, generator, distributor, and model A front end. How much is the PTO transmission worth? What are some uses for the PTO? With the pieces and parts that I already have, I was thinking about a AA Tow truck. The hoist assemble is manual crank. It seems like a waste to have a PTO transmission and not use the PTO. I have heard a rumor that some of it could be modified to an overdrive of some sort.

Hello John,
I would think that a pto should be worth $50 to $75.
Many of Ford's dump trucks had the hoists pto driven.
I have never heard of using a pto to get a overdrive. I am sure there are other uses for the pto
