Help on frame welting - speedometer - Wheel Color.

Post by s147881 »

1st - Does the frame welting go between the wood rails and the frame on a flat bed for a 1930 truck (29 style cab)?

2nd - I am rebuilding the speedometer and everything seems to work fine except the 3 wheel trip odometer. The wheel on the right which is directly connected to the gear rotates very easily until it rotates to the point at which it should turn the tens wheel and it locks up. If I remove this drive wheel and rotate the tens wheel, it rotates fine and advances the hundreds wheel with no problem. I have anouther speedometer and it has the exact same problem. Am I missing something here?

3rd - What type of black are the wheels painted. Glossy, Flat, or Semi-Gloss?

Any help on this whould be greatly appriciated. :? :? :?: :?:

Frame welt goes between the front fender and that portion of the splash apron which is on the frame. There is not frame weld between the frame and platform.

Note that in the picture, I ran the welt to the hinge pillar bracket. I also put welt on both the hood shelf brackets the hing pillar brackets to make everything level.

The wheels were gloss black. They were dipped originally.

Sorry, I can't help on the speedometer question.
