The Paint & Finish Guide shows Rock Moss Green, Blue Rock Green and Black. After September 1930 the following colors were added
Phoenix Brown, Menelous Orange, Rubelite Red, Pegex Orange, Copra Drab, and Thorne Brown.

I haven’t painted a vehicle in years. Looking at automotive paint prices; whoaa!!! Mine might end up being Rust-Oleum too! Kim, I would like to see pictures of your truck.
Do you suppose this could have been original color. I don’t see anything else on these wheels.

Thanks for posting the pictures guys. Yes my wheels look orange to me, almost like Allis Chalmers equipment orange. I kinda like em, whatever color they are. Wish I knew what this truck was in it’s former life. It ‘had’ a spare tire carrier under rear at one time.

When I got my Early '30 49 years ago it had a few yellow rims on it. I never considered that they might have been original paint. Now I see they might have been. Oh well, they are black now.

Hey! Those yellow wheels are not original color. That is Marigold Yellow to match the striping on the rear That my Dad in law did after he pulled it out of the river bottoms. It resided in the bottoms for 35 yrs.. I know the entire history on this one.. :D

As Bob C states, those are the colors for AAs that I have as information in an antique Ford repaint manual. However, I have heard that fleet trucks could be any color known to man, and that includes wheel colors. I often wonder how many contemporary restorers scratch their heads regarding the paint job on their truck because it is so non-Ford, when the reason it’s so bizarre is because it was once a fleet truck.

It regard to paint prices, they are insane. However, Professional series Rustolem alkyd enamel paints are much better than most people think. I have developed a formula for Rock Moss Green enamel using off the shelf Rustolem paints. I am working on trying to develop a formula for Blue Rock Green, Gun Metal Blue, Dawn Gray, Vagabond Green Manila Brown and others. If you want to shoot your truck with enamel.

Let me know the specifics on the Rust Oleum Rock Moss Green please. I'm up for a 'repaint'.
