Passenger side running board is in great shape: driver side missing. Aprons possibly salvageable with new bottom lip welded on. A couple questions:
Number one, how do running board and apron attach to each other? Does running board just sit in groove in bottom of apron?
Number two, are left and right running boards different?

Neil, I don’t have a lot to go on. Engine production date is September 1930, but no AA prefix so I assume it’s a replacement. I am just learning, but so far most everything looks like 1930. The running board is 65” long. It has a chassis cowl and no body other than an older attempt at recreating a huckster body. I have what looks like some original bed side braces with some newer ones made to match. A wooden windshield frame, two wood cab doors with sliding wood sashes and some other frame components: upright supports and roof side stringers etc.,. My guess is it at one point had an aftermarket body now long gone and all I have is an early but unsuccessful attempt at recreating it.

Your 65" long running board would be AA-16459-B and you can verify that at https://aafords.com/aa-chassis/aa-16000-fenders/#rb. The right hand board would be AA-16458-B. These are not being reproduced. I just sold my extra left hand board. Yes, the running board inside edge mates with the shield as you indicate.

When you remove the cowl, the original engine ID will be on the left-top of the frame - see https://aafords.com/aa-information/#feidm. There is a drawing showing the location of the ID stamping.

Looks like it has the hole for the side spare tire carrier in the apron like the express truck has!!

Yes and the corresponding hole in frame but no carrier.
