Hi,

I know this must have been discussed before, but I could not find the exact answer so here goes.

What is the correct factory installed wheel for a January 1931 AA?

https://aafords.com/aa-chassis/aa-1000-wheels/#w

Would it be the AA-1015-C d4 version (from January 1931 - end of production) or the AA-1015-C d1, d2, d3 version (from January 1930 to April 1931), or is either appropriate?

Thanks,
Dave

Hi Dave,

Since the factory could have used whatever inventory they had at the time, either would be appropriate for your truck. My truck is an early 1931 AA as well, and has a mixture of the two! However, I expect the mixed wheels happened later on in life, and not necessarily at the factory.

Hope that helps!
Mark P.

January 1931 AA's can have a mix of AA-1015-C d3 and d4 wheels. I have seen several AA chassis with this combination. All AA-1015-C wheels have the Budd manufacturing date which shows on outside dual wheels. For judging, these wheels should have correct dates.
