Hello again... Sorry for all the questions.
My 88-A came w/ some stakes, and I ordered a sample stake from Synder's, but none seem to fit properly. When I measure the boxed end, they measure 3" x 1-5/8". According to Neil Wilson's write-up, they should measure 1-1/2", which seems correct. What truck takes these larger stakes?

Re: Stakes Don't Fit in 88-A Platform Pockets
Here is a pic of all the stakes that came w/ the truck, none of them really fit well. All measure 3" x 1-5/8". If anyone is interested, I will be posting them for sale in the appropriate forum. They seem "original", so I'm assume they are worth at least as much as a reproduction part, $50 each.?.? -Scott

slavalley, Those are not the stakes for the 188-A racks. They look to be cut-off stakes for the 185-B and 187-A platforms (i.e. 186-B and 189-A stake racks). They only have bolt holes for the two lower boards. Originals were 46-1/16" tall with bolt holes for four boards.slavalley wrote: ↑March 22nd, 2020, 1:25 pmHere is a pic of all the stakes that came w/ the truck, none of them really fit well. Refer to https://aafords.com/open-bodies/platfor ... latform/#e
Whom ever is making the stake you bought, got it wrong (typical). The 188-A stake is 1-1/2" thick (maybe 1.52 at the most). They must be a loose fit in the pockets.

Re: Stakes Don't Fit in 88-A Platform Pockets
Thank you Neil! I believe you are correct, these do look like stakes for the 187-A platform. They came w/ with the rack cross boards riveted to the stakes (which I removed), as you detail in your write-up.
"Rack boards were attached to each stake with 1/4” rivets
installed from the board side. The rivet heads, which were like a
carriage bolt head, measured 5/32” high by 5/8” in diameter. "
This Model AA hobby isn't as easy as my Model A hobby.

Yea, but it is more interesting in my opinion. Always something new to learn.
