My early '28 closed cab doors have 3 locations for fasteners which are located where the top of the window would contact when closed. It would seem that maybe they would be for an upper window channel, but I don't have any original parts for this area and all I have found from the parts suppliers is a "top window cushion" that is held in place with adhesive. Please see the photos.

What fastens in this location?

Brian, Those nut-cages were for square nuts used with the Model T. The model T had a rubber seal which slid into a metal strip. The assembly was attached with screws. The doors for the 79-A, 82-A, and 85-A could have been supplied as replacement for those Model T's which used the same design doors.

I would not be surprised to find that Model T suppliers have those seal assemblies.
