Hello. Does anyone have ubolts to fasten flatbed to frame? I think I’m talking about a 1928 closed cab, with a Ford script flatbed frame.
Thanks in advance! Gene

Hi Gene,
I had asked this same question a while ago and no one had any available.
I also need the short 9-1/2" U-bolt for my 88-A platform.

Re: Ubolts
Hey dave.
I am told there is a man in town here who can make them for me. All I have to do is give him the measurements.....which I don’t know if I’m stupid or what, but I’m having a hard tome understanding what I’m looking at on the drawings that show sizes of the ubolts.
If and when I figure it out, and check with the guy here, I’ll repost what I learn. Gene

FYI - There are lots of variations regarding the installation hardware for the Ford sold platform bodies. Details for the 88-A platform (1927-1931) regarding the number of u-bolts, designs the length of each is found at https://aafords.com/open-bodies/platfor ... etails/#ih. Finding originals is a challenge. Those that make u-bolts are using round stock and do not look original. But, they work for those not requiring originality.ModelAAfreddie wrote: ↑September 5th, 2020, 10:40 pmHey dave.

Re: Ubolts
I have a set but was thinking of having a blacksmith turn them into the tie down bolts(which seem to not exist) for my express truck.......Greg
