ford AA steering stop?

ford AA steering stop?

if i make a sharp right hand turn the wheel goes too far and can start to skid. i see no steering stops. any advice. only happens under the perfect conditions but far from ideal. have denman 20 inch tires.

Check the nut on king pin lock bolt. It’s supposed to have a long nut that acts as a steering stop. It should be longer than the one for a car.

Page 378 in Ford service bulletin for September 1929. The nut should be 1 9/32” long, part #AA-3124.

FYI - An original AA spindle bolt locking pin was also longer than the pin used on the A-chassis.

thank you all for great input. i am thinking i have the car spindle stops and not the AA. very small difference but quite important. any idea for sources of this part? i looked at snyders but no luck, maybe looked under wrong title.

AA-312428-29
Special long nut used with the king pin locking bolt. Provides the stop for how far the wheels can be turned. USA

I just shoved a nut over the end to make it the proper length. Not how it is supposed to be, but it works until I get it corrected.
