Old rusty wrecker
Thanks to my good friend Bob and my son Ethan for attending the auction to purchase this old rusty 1930 wrecker. Cab is pretty decent and it runs. Lots of extra parts with this one. Has weaver crane on the back complete with two original cranks, original block and tackle and chain. I am going to use the cab on a1931 express truck. Good winter project for Michigan. Thanks Bob and Ethan for doing the heavy lifting.

I'm surprised at how nice that steering wheel is. That's a nice find!

What’s a good asking price for hoist - complete with handle and original block and tackle.

Re: Old rusty wrecker
What are you asking for the cranks? I only need 1.

Re: Old rusty wrecker
One crank sold. One left if someone is interested.
Re: Old rusty wrecker
Got the truck running - it appears to be original motor. Jacked up rear end and put in first gear to rotate drive train for 30 mins prior to draining gear oil. Rear end grease was very old but a lot of it. Going to clean 4 speed top and pull cover today. Brakes work OK but they are setup different. There is a brake shaft that operates the normal shoes and emergency brake at the same time. The emergency brake handle is tied into the same brake shaft. Both brake rods (from peddle and emergency brake handle have a slip area to allow one or the other rods to pull shaft. Front brakes are not hooked up and there is no way to attach them to shaft. I need to repair one tire before first road test.

Found original roof below the metal roof that was applied by someone. Bows and wood are all good. A few small drill holes to weld closed that was put in to allow roof to be bolted on.

Re: Old rusty wrecker
Sir, do you still have one of those cranks for sale and if you do what would you like for it?
Thank you, Keith
