Rear springs on 29 AA
Rear springs on 29 AA
Has anyone here experimented with removing leaves from rear spring? I am thinking of removing every other one. Total of 7 per side.

Probably ride smoother. Id be worried about the ending ride height as each one of those leaves is like 1/4" thick. May have to make some spacers

FYI - AA-5560-C – A 13 leaf assembly which had the same variety of individual parts design changes as for AA-5560-B 16 leaf spring assembly. It was used for the Panel Deliveries 85-A and B, Standard and Deluxe Police Patrols 290-A and 285-A, Deluxe Delivery 300-A, and the Express 195-A and 197-A.

Thank you for the link, very helpfull!
Re: Rear springs on 29 AA
I have seen a couple of "fixes" (1) Several top leaves are removed and a short block of white oak is used as a filler. (2) The ends of the top leaves are hacked off. This makes them filler only. Both of these ideas do not lower the rear of the truck. I like the first version best. If the top leaves are removed then you still have them in case you change your mind and want to reinstall them. Best, Ed
