Drive shaft issue

Post by 1929oldtruck »

I have a 1929 AA flatbed that has been in the family for 60+ years. More of a "farm truck" but looking to upgarde now that I'm retired. Clutch fingers needed to be adjusted so I pulled the rear, transmission etc. Re-adjusted the clutch fingers and started to put things back together when I realized the drive shaft was pulled out from the torque tube roughly 2" from the collar. I can rotate the shaft by hand so no engagement to the rear end. I have never had the opportunity to look beyond the transmission so I'm not quite sure how things interface from that point on. I'm assuming the torque tube needs to be removed? Any steps to allow me to move forward would be greatly appreciated.

There should be a couple of pins holding the coupling to the driveshaft and pinion gear.
