1930-1931 Wheels?

Post by John - NNY »

Does anyone have a source for some Ford Model AA truck wheels? There were three versions in 1930-1931. The set that I have on my project is a collection of all three types. The type that I am mainly interesed in is the middle version. It has the 1/4" greater offset than the earlier version and without the raised ring used on the 1931 models. I have two of the 1931 style wheels in great shape that I would be willing to trade.

As far as I can tell, my truck was built about spring or early summer 1930. The S/N on the engine is gone. I haven't removed the cab to look at the frame yet.

Of the three types of 5-hole wheels, any of the first or second type steel wheels would be great. As long as they are are in good shape and do not have the raised ring used on the late 1931 models. The difference in offset from the first and second type is very slight. I am trying to get a good set of 7 matching wheels. My truck is spring-summer 1930 so both the first and second type would be correct. I will look for my wheel notes and see what dates they have stamped on them.

John,
Is your AA and Early or Late '30? Spring-summer is confusing. The Early, 1929 type cab, was produced till June of '30

The cab is the later 30-31 version. The wheels that I have are marked 8-30, 1-31, 2-31.

John,

I have one wheel of the type you need on my BB , in fact it's the nicest wheel on the truck. I would gladly trade it for a 31 style wheel, so I could put duals on my truck. I could actually use two wheels. I am in northeast PA. Steve
