rear wheel stud removal
rear wheel stud removal
I need to replace the wheel studs on the LR drum of my '31. I have the drum off the axle and have removed the nuts from the inside of the drum. Pounding on the studs from the inside isn't making any progress to get them out. Is it one of those "heat and beat" processes to remove them, or is there a secret method to get them out?

Re: rear wheel stud removal
I removed studs from six rear drums recently. On a firm backup surface with heavy hammer and brass drift they all came out without too much problem. I loosen nuts and leave them on till stud starts to move so as not to mushroom them. Sounds like you might have swelled them up if you directly impacted them with hammer.
