Hello all,
So i need to get a hollow punch set to punch holes in my body block pads and frame welt eventually. Considering i never needed them till now and cant see an immediate need later on the harbor freight variety is the right price.
But they have 2 kinds: the standard hand style where you hit it with a hammer or the other style you use a drill.
Im leaning towards the drill but what are your guys' thoughts for those of you who have done this before?

I have the hand/hammer style and it has worked good for everything I've asked of it so far (similar applications). I would think the drill version might be a little challenging to control the position and the material you are punching might twist along with the punch.

I have a hammer set too. I used some that my grandfather had but it was incomplete and well worn. I purchased a nice set on Amazon. I have used it several times during my restoration. https://www.amazon.com/ABN-Hollow-Leath ... RG9K&psc=1
