Kick Panel Placement

Post by dlevy »

Hi,

Can someone verify for me the placement of the top of the kick panels please.

Does the kick panel go between the flange of the dash rail and the door post?
- in this case the finished edge of the kick panel would be visible part way up the seam between the dash rail and door post

- or -

Does the flange of the dash rail go between the kick panel and the door post as I currently have it in the following pictures
- in this case there is a little gap between the edge of the dash rail and the door post

Thanks,
Dave

Dave, I have no direct knowledge to answer your question. Your 82-B cowl panels would be the same as other 1930-1931 bodies with regard to area in question. So, A-vehicle folks might have the answer. Attached is a picture showing that the panel extends up higher than the dash rail. The finished edge of the cowl panel can be seen between the dash rail and hinge pillar. This is how the 82-A cowl panel is fit.

Neil,

Do you happen to have a picture that shows a little higher up on the end of the dash rail?

There’s a long tail of hem off the top of the kick panel and would like to see how it terminals in that space between the dash rail and door post.

Thanks
Dave

Sorry Dave, That is the only photo I find on my computer.
