At the bottom of your post click on attachments and select the photo you want to attach.
If your photo is too large you will need to make it smaller first.
Just open your picture on your computer and resize it and save it. I keep a folder on my desktop just for placing resized pictures in if for posting.

Bring them down to about 1 MB.
If you open the picture on your computer and right click on it you should have an option menu open up. Pick the option to resize. Often there will be an option there listed as best for emailing. Pick that one.

I resized the pictures but all I get when I try to post is a few letters (img]. I am using the "insert image" icon at the top of the window; what am I doing wrong?

At the bottom of your message open attachments click on Add Files open the picture you want then click on Place Inline.
