I"m looking at my windshield and contemplating just buying a new one instead of risking the original one will reassemble with the new glass.
I'm reading in Brattons and Snyders of a steel frame and an aluminum frame version. Does anyone have experience with using the aluminum frame as a replacement? The difference in price is certainly attractive compared to the steel frame.

What's wrong with the old one?
Re: Windshield, aluminum vs steel
Not sure if the original is able to withstand disassembly and reassembly. Most likely never spent a night indoors and it lived in an area with 50-60 inches of annual rainfall.

Give it a shot. Nothing much to loose I would think.
