relining emergency brake bands

Post by mikeg »

I'm about to reline my parking brake bands this weekend, I have the lining material, rivets and the tool to drill and set the rivets.

Was wondering if any body had some tips on doing a good job, such as how deep do you drill into the lining, rivet setting tricks and so on.

Thanks !

Sounds like you have good start. I would be suggest you have A helper. Also some good C clamps. E brake is good one to start on for tirst time. line up new lineing . CLAMP DOWN , I like to start in center and work toward ends. AA are big boys .You can drill 1/4 to hide head or alittle bit more .Have at least 50 % holding Down Good luck George L Send E mail OR Post on ahooga if any more quest,
