I was wondering if someone could identify a compressor an Older gentleman threw in when I bought the 1930 AA stakebed from him. He passed away after I bought it, but before I picked it up, so the history passed with him.
I hope this pic helps

Gordon Smith Air Compressor
I have one that I use for sand blasting. They were kits that were sold by Gorson Smith Compressor Company. One could buy a complete unit or purchase separate parts to make their own.
The engine runs on cylinders 1 & 4 and the air compressor operates on cylinders 2 & 3. When it is running, monitor the tank pressure and ensure that the governor cuts the engine rpm back around 125 psi.
I always try to let as much air out of the tank as possible before cutting the engine off, as the reed valves in the compressor head are famous for breakage when the engine is cut off when the tank is full of compressed air.
