Small update with some pics.
Well going to tackle the front axle, steering,brakes, whatever else is attached to it lol. Just pulled it off the truck today. probably going to work on getting the hubs freed up first so i can remove them and see what the brakes look like. So far things look ok as theres tons of freshish looking grease all over the spindle nuts and in the bearings.
Any tips on removing/freeing up stuck brakes?
(those are the ones that are liek modern day center caps that slip thru the backside of the rim)
im not sure what kinda spring the front was, its not very wide and was told it was the car leaf spring. (count the holes and tell me how many leaf's there are?)
and just a fun pic of it all loaded up
(both those rims are bad unfortunately)

The front spring is an AA part - AA-3510. It is a 12 leave spring and all leaves are unique to the AA except the #12 (top) leaf which is the same as the #10 (top) leaf on the A spring.

28,early 29 front axel with "A" breaks. Looks just like my early 28 with wire wheels held on by the acorn lug nuts.All my lug bolts are right hand thread, L & R. Something I don't have enough of.---bert, fl.

All '28/'29 AA's had A sized front brake shoes. All AA's had only right hand lug nuts until mid February '29. Until late '28, the AA wheel nuts had a 15/16" hex and looked like a top hat. The first design was taller and a shorter second design started in mid '28. The first acorn nuts (starting in late '28) did not have an "R" marking and had a shorter hex than later nuts with "R" and "L".
Many '28 AA's were converted in '29 to the larger '29 front spindles. The conversion required the use of the "R" and "L" wheel nuts.

mine had left and right hand threads. had 2 different type of lugnuts too, they looked liek the silver ones in the above pic...
so all the brake stuff on my brakes is the same as the cars? if it is thats good to know.

The front backing plates and all brake parts attached to them are the same as the A.

i do have a question: now you said the front spring itself is AA specific but are the shackles?(i assume but id rather ask as this is the first AA(and A) ive ever done/touched...
Also what about the spindles and kingpins? Are they the same as the A's? Are the bearings?

October 18, 1929 – AA-3105 Spindle Changeovers – indicates that this changeover is for all AA trucks which were delivered up to February 15th 1929. If the AA has the former type spindle bodies, then the changeover should be made.
April 22, 1930 – AA-3105-AR Spindle Body – indicates that the gratis replacement was now cancelled.

I have a set of spindles and king pins that i took off a hulk AA truck. I cant find any parts # but the pins are marked "FORD" and BB.........can you tell me anything about them?

well the model BB's were the AA's that were past 31... (much like the model B)
