Help ID'ing Hole
Help ID'ing Hole
Hi fellow AA'ers. As I'm disassembling and removing the dash rail in my 31 AA I noticed a strange hole behind it. On the passenger side when I tilt out the windshield there is a 1/2 round groove on the top of the fuel tank. On the face of the dash rail there is a large approx. 1 inch hole with a smaller hole on each side aparently for the screws for a flange of some type.Someone stuffed a cork in the hole. Has it got to do with drainage, air flow, or maybe some kind of add on accessory? The fuel tank groove looks factory but the rest looks crude.Maybe its for the muzzle of a Thompson SMG.
Old is good, New is bad

Re: Help ID'ing Hole
A picture is worth 1,000 words! But, it sounds like you have some aftermarket holes.
