Re: Dual Transmission I.D.?
Can you provide more pictures showing close ups of the front and rear? How long is the unit?

Did you remove the unit from an AA? If so, what type of AA? Did you remove it from any kind of vehicle? If so, what?

Neil/Drew,
The overall length is 37", the larger end with the gear is 9" from bottom round part to the top of the flat area of casing, and 7" across the round part of the casing. came with a lot of model a,model t, early chev. parts, don't know what it was taken out of, but have some TT truck parts that were in the lot. p.s. square shaft is 1 1/8".<center>

You got me! In the bottom photo, there's what appears to be a shift-lever on the left. Is that correct?

Drew,
the lever appears to pivot both ways; back and forth in line with the length of the tube, and side to side perpendicular to the tube. also has a return spring.

Re: Dual Transmission I.D.?
In the pictures showing the gears, it looks like the gears are off set from center. So, I am guessing that they would have meshed with planetary gears. The square shaft would most likely be Model T rather than A.
This is all just speculation!
