My new AA

Post by Royal »

Here are pictures of a AA I just bought. 31 Stake (AA4079194) Here is what I know! Original owner was a farm in So. Cal. Sometime in late 70's truck was purchased and moved to N.Cal. Around 1980 truck was purchased by a auto parts dealer and mainly used in parades. I was told it is original color (Arabian Sand???) except for the doors which were painted and had the business painted on them.
Minor rust on left cowl and split, rotted platform wood are only body issues. Interior is very nice. Been driving it around the farm and she runs and shifts nicely. Got eleven 6-spoke rims.Has all 4 hub caps which appear to be in good shape.
7-36 metal tag is on the rear axle. 1 pc front bumper. Spare tire carrier.
Anyone recognize the latches on the stake racks?
I am told it has lots of original parts. Hope some of you will see things in the photos and email me. I plan to post more pictures. I covered the business name with the towel out of respect for the previous owner. He passed away and the family was emotional about selling the truck.
Thanks for looking!
Roy

I will try again! The problem seems to be the nut behind the wheel didn't "compress" the photos! I will keep trying as its a really nice AA. Roy

Hello Roy.
FYI - Engine AA4079194 is early Nov 1930. So, it could have been put into a January or February 1931. The right front wheel is the 31/33 style and I have seen this style wheel with a 2-31 date. You could check the dates on the outside wheels without removing.

The platform is the 88-A which was use through February 1931. And the stake racks look like the 188-A (but with after market connections which I have not seen before). The 188-A stake racks go with the 88-A platform.

It looks like a great truck.
Regards, Neil Wilson
