Re: Grease fittings and tail pipe routing
Page 558 is some what confusing, but figure 1158 shows 2 each AA-5256-C brackets like the first one Neil posted above. The 2nd one must be a replacement. This is the ones on the 157"wb open bodies-short tail pipe. May not work on the 131 1/2" wb for Chris. fig. 1160 shows bracket # AA-5256-D next to muffler and bracket # AA-5256-C (same as A car) bolted on the next cross member. Finding proper tail pipe would be the hardest to do! Shelby, Louisiana.

It appears that your 157" brackets are not what is needed for my 131 1/2".

Re: Grease fittings and tail pipe routing
The exhaust clamps are confusing for the A model. March, 1929 this clamp part # was change from A5256B to A5256C, but in all the parts catalogs they are listed as A5256B. So to me there is no real clear A5256C, Unless the first bracket That Neil had posted above is AA5256C. But on pg. 558 it pictures AA5256C and AA5256D looking the same on the same page (Confusing). Most all AAs use 1 of these clamps, A5256B, but not all! Shelby, Louisiana.

Re: Grease fittings and tail pipe routing
it appeared to me that the difference is in whether it has one or two mounting holes to the frame

Re: Grease fittings and tail pipe routing
Mike, I Never cut off access of bracket so one could tell it was hand made,or original. I think it would be great for everyone to get the measurements for AA5256C and AA5256D. One has 1 mount hole and the other has 2 mounting holes. Not sure which is which! Thanks!!! Shelby, Louisiana

Shorthaul, Thanks, To me it is simple and easy, Others? I was planning to make a jig to make these and others, Seems like not enough people are interested for me to build a jig. The ones I need I could fabricate IN a few Minutes! Shelby, Louisiana.

Just to put these 2 subjects together. Also there is an insert available to repair drive-in grease fittings! Good luck! Shelby, Louisiana.
