What is E coating?

There are 2 types of E coating that I know of . 1 is a hot dip the other is a positive - negative charge that draws the liquid into the tight places , the actual coating is a rust preventive , chemical resitant coating , I am no expert on this , this is how the company explained it to me, they do mostly OEM stuff but they have a dept. for walk ins . The frame was chemically stripped before coating.
