Re: Need PTO for 1928 AA with 3-speed/2-speed set up
Hello Truckman,
I assume that the two speed you reference is the Ford sold dual high (which is actually an under drive). You can install the four speed and keep the dual high with two special parts:
Rear Bearing Retainer AA-7085-B
Special u-joint A-7090-C (as indicated by Bob C)
Pictures are shown. These same parts are used to install a '28/'29 Warford behind a 4-speed

Thank you, Neil,
Now, are these parts as rare as hens teeth or is there a way that you know of to find them? Finding the 4-bolt PTO has been like searching for the Holy Grail and hoping for world peace at the same time.
Please advise.

Re: Need PTO for 1928 AA with 3-speed/2-speed set up
Both of these parts seem to be hard to find. I might have one of the rear bearing retainers to sell but not the u-joint. I have an AA truck with the four bolt PTO currently installed. The platform was modified to be used as a dump at some time. Too bad that the platform cross members were mostly destroyed since it is the first platform design with only four stake pockets on each side.

BTW - The four speed will also require the AA clutch housing.

I bought my first pick up truck, a '61 Chevy, for $220 at an auction and drove it home. Prices do change.
Those London replies are all bogus. Ask him for a picture of the unit and you will either get no reply or a reply saying that he is having technical difficulties and can't send a picture.

Regarding the England source for parts - There is a club member in England (John Charlton) and we have bought and sold parts. If you want to provide the contact information (like address and phone number) of the person you are trying to deal with, I will e-mail John to see if he can determine if your guy is okay!

Did I miss something? Where did you get "London"? The person that identifies himself/herself as "1929FORDAA" has a profile that says he's/she's from Brentwood, Northern California.
