Wanted Body Parts
Wanted Body Parts
I am looking for same parts for my 1930 AA, as I have a complete rolling frame with drivetrain. I need a complete cab, fenders, hood and Radiator shell with Radiator. Aslo need a front bumper to. There parts don't need to be perfect, as I am going for a barn fresh look.
I also need a carb. and dist. for it to.
Let me know what you got.
Thanks
Kyle

Re: Wanted Body Parts
To avoid buying the wrong parts, you need to determine if you have a prior to June 1930 AA (takes 82-A cab and 1929 sheet metal). About May/June 1930 the 82-B cab and related sheet metal was used.

If you can find the number stamped in the frame you can determine the approximate time it was built.
Look on top of the left frame rail just behind the rear engine mount.

Re: Wanted Body Parts
The XX344748 does not help at all! A 1930 would have a number from 2,742,696 to 4,237,500. The number of digits and the first four digits are critical to identifying the month of engine assembly. There would be an AA preceding the number and a star on both ends.

Re: Wanted Body Parts
That all I could make out on the frame.
I got the # of the engine and it says "Engine #3474083 was made on May 26, 1930"

Re: Wanted Body Parts
With the engine number to refer to take another look at the frame # and see if it could be the same. They seem to have a lot of #'s in common. Maybe some of them you couldn't be sure of are the ones that don't match.
From the engine # that is very close to the chgange over date. I would guess it might go either way.
I have #3330544 which would have been stamped 21 days earlier and it has the 82A cab.

Re: Wanted Body Parts
3,474,083 is in the middle of May 1930. The number range for May is 3,304,704 - 3,509,306. So, your chassis would be a late May or June 1930 production truck (possibly July). This is during the conversion time from the 82-A to 82-B cab.
I have a 79-A panel delivery with frame number 3,310,631 (May 1930). The 79-A is the 1928 - mid 1930 panel delivery body.
Based on what I have seen, I would believe that your AA truck would have had the 82-A closed cab originally. This would mean that all related sheet metal would be the 1929 - mid 1930 style.
But, you could go with the 82-B and related sheet metal also.
I would look for either cab first. The cab you can find determines the remaining sheet metal you need.
Does your chassis have a radiator and shell? If yes, then post a picture. The 82-A cab would have a 1929 - mid 1930 radiator and shell. The 82-B cab would have had a 1930 - 1931 radiator and shell.

Re: Wanted Body Parts
Thanks Neil. It does not have a radiator and shell. I will post same pics, when I can get it out of the barn.
I do not know what I am going to do with the truck yet. I got a lot of projects waiting.

What looks like XX to you is actually a STAR.
